Prayers of the Faithful…

.

Presider:

Praying that the Father will open our hearts to all who seek his truth, let us now confidently present to Him our prayers and petitions.

  1. Deacon: Let us pray for the Church

Reader: Lord… may your Church always be a support and champion of those who would seek peace and justice for all people.

Pause We pray to the Lord

R: Lord, hear our prayer.

  1. Deacon: Let us pray for those who lead us

Reader: As the Church celebrates this Year for priests, let us pray for (Hamilton Diocese) Monsignor Bennett and Fr McAuslin of Cambridge and Matamata parishes as they preach the Gospel and celebrate the Sacraments. May they continue to be men of faith and faithful men.

Pause We pray to the Lord

R: Lord, hear our prayer.

.

  1. Deacon: Let us pray for our community

Leader Lord… may we never be stumbling blocks to our children, but by our words, actions and example, ever aid their growth in faith hope and love.

Pause We pray to the Lord

R: Lord, hear our prayer.

  1. Deacon: Let us pray for those suffering physical and mental pain.

Reader: Lord…we pray for the elderly and infirm, those who are suffering from depression, physical torment and distress. Alleviate their agony and grant them your peace.

Pause We pray to the Lord

R: Lord, hear our prayer.

5. Deacon: We pray for all those who have died …

Leader: Lord …grant the gift of eternal life to those who have died and compassion to those who grieve the loss of the people they love.

Pause We pray to the Lord

R: Lord, hear our prayer.

(Please remain at lectern until the presider says the following or similar prayer)

Presider: Loving God, hear these prayers and the prayers of your people everywhere. We make our prayer in Jesus’ name.

R.Amen.
